Ultrasound is an effective therapy at all stages of repair and is particularly effective on tissues with a high protein content and relatively low blood supply i.e. tendons and ligaments.
It helps to accelerate wound healing and helps reduce oedema during micromassage. It encourages pain relief and helps to reduce scar tissue by encouraging collagen production, extensibility and quality.
Because of its penetrating nature, ultrasound can be used to selectively heat certain tissues, such as muscles and ligaments, while avoiding excessive heating of the overlying skin.
The amount of treatment sessions and frequency is dependent upon the individual case. Please contact for further information.
